The "Restaurant" at the End of the "Universe"

Today we went to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and I must say, what a fantastic place it is.
Of all the sculpture parks I've ever been to it definitely makes the top 1. It was free to get in too. Amazing.
But none of this is a rant. What went wrong?
I'll tell you what went wrong. Food.
We decided to eat in the restaurant. Sorry, that should be "restaurant". You pick up a tray as you walk in and queue for your food. That's a cafeteria, not a restaurant. They should probably look up the definition of restaurant really, before there's any kind of legal challenge made against them.
One thing that was restaurant-like however was the prices.
£3 for a bottle of pop, £4 for a sandwich, £4 for a piece of cake.
I know, right?
And then there's this:
This is two small fishcakes and a tiny portion of chips that had been kept warm beneath a heat lamp for who knows how long. The plate it's on is a normal tea plate, not a dinner plate and the mushy peas were served in something about the same size as one of those little tubs you fill with ketchup in McDonald's.
And the price of this?
£7.
The missus ordered something which needed to be prepared. After 20 minutes it hadn't arrived. This was reported and we were told it was on its way. After 30 minutes it still hasn't arrived. The missus spoke to a supervisor who went to chase it up, but became quite arsey due to the correct suggestion that the eatery wasn't a restaurant.
Her £8.50 hot aubergine salad with a good full tub of possibly supermarket hummus on it arrived as the clock hit 35 minutes.
A vague apology was offered along with the "we're very busy" explanation. Well, if you can't cope with busy times, you shouldn't be in the pretend restaurant business.
We were given two of their ridiculously-expensive-but-cost-virtually-nothing-to-produce cakes by way of compensation though.
The whole dining experience sullied what was actually a very pleasant day, so thanks, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, for absolutely nothing.
Except the sculptures, they were alright.
